Noon
The title of this post is the best way I can describe the upcoming week. I know people have some travel concerns. If you have to travel the passes all I can tell you is at those altitudes I would expect snow on every day whether it be light moderate or heavy until Thursday or Friday. Then there is a chance of another storm next weekend.
I expect snow levels to drop a bit as each wave come through. It will be difficult to time the events although a bigger colder storm is identifiable in the Wednesday/Thursday time period. There will be some surprises with this setup, it is a perfect environment for leftover pieces of waves to develop into something decent that models miss until after it happens.
Over the course of the next 5 days, 6 inches to 3 feet are possible in varying locations in our corner of the state. Then there is a chance for another storm around Sunday and Tuesday.
Latest model runs
There has been very little change in the models since my earlier post, but the trend has continued for on and off snow throughout Monday and maybe Tuesday with a bigger system Wednesday early through Thursday late.
Here is the latest HiRes model run, I prefer using the same day run of the model because it is usually more accurate, but this gives you an idea of the areas the model is highlighting for significant precipitation, this is ending 5 am Monday morning.
Unless there is a major change in the overnight models my next update should be around 8 am Sunday.
