NW flow has kicked in across much of the western US. This will continue to bring in colder temps and some snow tonight and tomorrow for the NW San Juans. The highest totals will be around Red Mountain Pass with 4-8″.
Telluride picked up an additional 2″ overnight bringing the event total to 5″ and should be able to squeeze out an additional 2″ tonight and tomorrow. To be clear, I am not talking about Telluride in town. And to be honest, I do not have the experience to distinguish between Telluride in town, or Sawpit, Placerville or Mountain Village, so I do my best to try to forecast snow on the mountain while I learn the rest of the area. Hopefully one day I will have a better handle on all of that like I try to do in Durango.
Wolf Creek finished up with 10″ after picking up an additional 3″. As I mentioned the coldest air of the week should be in place tomorrow for all areas, and then a big warm-up will kick in especially in the lower elevations. This should stick around until the next storm moves in hopefully on Monday. All of the models have decent snow for the higher elevations, but the Euro is showing big snow at all elevations. I have even odds at this point on the outcome, at the moment I think we are seeing model bias on all accounts.
