March 18th Contest Update!

Last night I learned that the Durango Wine Experience is canceled, this is too bad, but under no circumstances would it comply with the “Social Distancing” that is being encouraged and enforced throughout Colorado and much of the United States.

Our local Businesses need our help. The Colorado Department of Public Health issued an executive order to temporarily close all of our favorite restaurants for dining in purposes. Also, all of our favorite bars and taverns, gyms, tasting rooms, etc. in Durango and the rest of Colorado, until April 17th. This will have a major impact on our small businesses.

Emails have now gone out to many people involved with DWE so it is just a matter of time before the information becomes widely known.

Several days ago, I amended the contest so that as an alternative the winner could choose gift certificates (in any combination) totaling the $250 for their Grand Prize. I did that just in case something like this happened.

Details

I am happy to announce today, that since I won’t be attending the event, the money I had earmarked towards enjoying that weekend will not be spent by me, therefore, I am adding additional drawings and prizes.

The total purse will be $500 and will be distributed as follows: 1 Grand Prize winner for $250. 1 Second place winner for $150. 1 Third place winner for $100. (NEW) 1 Fourth place winner will have their choice of either 2 tickets to San Juan Brew Fest, courtesy of Tim Walsworth and the San Juan Brewfest or a $50 Gift Card to Ninis Taqueria courtesy of the owners Abby and Andy. The 5th place winner will get the unclaimed prize in the fourth drawing.

The drawing will occur one day after the establishments are allowed to open. If everything goes to plan, that would be April 18th. 4 chances to win! Please feel free to email me with questions.

Troubleshooting PayPal: PayPal is one of the leading global payment systems in the world, it is owned by eBay. People very rarely report to me that they are having problems donating, but when they do, it is usually between 6-8 am and 6-8 pm on weekdays. My suspicion is that this is due to increased global traffic for online bill pay, and online shopping (especially with the uptick in online shopping due to the virus). I am sorry for any problems this has caused you and please try again. Thank you!
