Thursday Update

Residual moisture from yesterday should fuel a few more afternoon storms today. Here are the max CAPE values this afternoon.

Some locations received close to 2 inches of rain yesterday. I had a lot of questions about the radar images I posted. 9news in Denver has the best radar interpretation for SW Colorado that I have seen and while it still uses the Grand Junction radar its algorithm produces a more friendly interpretation.

Until we get a radar here it is your best choice. The last conversation I had with the County I was told that we will be getting the radar, eventually. There is some hope that it will happen in late 2021. I am not going to be holding my breath. Anyway, here is a link to the radar site. They also have an app that you can download.

Over the next few days we should see afternoon storms and slightly cooler daytime highs through Tuesday. The models diverge a bit after that so we will have to wait and see if the relief continues or the heat comes back.

Thanks for all of the spotter reports yesterday, and thanks for following. Next update Friday.
