Mostly According To Plan

Published at 9:15 am Friday

So far things have gone mostly according to plan. Telluride and Wolf Creek are still getting snow but have already hit the low end of the range I expected. A number of mid-elevation locations got anything from a dusting to 3 inches. Purgatory reported 3 inches and they are done with this storm as the flow has turned mostly northwesterly with the exception of Wolf Creek where there is still light southwest flow.

A ridge of high pressure is going to force an active weather pattern to the north of Colorado until next Tuesday or Wednesday. The models have been indicating that a trough will drop into our area, but the details are still a bit sketchy and it would be premature to talk about any accumulations at this time. What I will say is that the models have been making the mistake with the last couple of storms of being too dry and too far north with the storm track, only to correct themselves a day or two before the storms arrived. Let’s hope that happens.
