Monday 8:15 am
Yesterday afternoon, the thunderstorms were extremely isolated and clung mostly to the high terrain of the San Juans and the La Platas. A few storms migrated off the La Platas bringing brief rain and graupel on western mid-elevation areas.
Today there is a better chance of more widespread showers. They will start this afternoon and could last well into the evening. These storms are going to be driven not only from convection but also from a short wave trough that will be rotating around an area of high pressure anchored over our area.
This may be the most active day of the week. I say that not to emphasize how active today will be. I say that because, at the moment, the rest of the week looks less active than today. Overall, chances are better than yesterday but the showers still look scattered.
Next update Tuesday morning, thanks for following and supporting the site!
