Overnight, the models continued to show the upcoming pattern change. The Canadian model is finally on board, so now, all four of the major long-term models I track are showing significant precipitation coming to our area!
Isolated showers will start in some locations as early as tomorrow afternoon. Scattered showers will redevelop Monday afternoon. By mid-week rain will become more widespread. The latest model runs are continuing the unsettled conditions through next weekend, although the GFS has had a run that showed the showers moving out of the area after Friday, we’ll see. The GFS is sometimes too quick in moving troughs out of the area.

There will be some snow with this pattern change. The models are flipping back and forth with the snow levels so I don’t want to get too excited. Another 48 hours and I should have a better handle on how low the snow will fall.
