Weekend And Next Week Update

Friday 10/22 8:10 am

There is not a lot to talk about in the short term. Temperatures are going to warm slightly today and it should be a nice day. Temperatures will cool slightly tomorrow under increasing clouds in advance of a short wave trough passing to our north late Saturday and early Sunday.

Isolated showers may still be possible late Saturday night into Sunday, especially for northern portions of the forecast area. Sunday night should clear out and temperatures may warm slightly on Monday before cooler and wetter conditions arrive late Monday/early Tuesday.

Over the last 24 hours, every deterministic model besides the GFS is starting to paint a more favorable picture for widespread precipitation. I have noticed over the last several months that the GFS is much better with higher altitude precipitation than it is with lower elevation accumulations. Here are the latest precipitation totals from the models I am following.

Euro liquid

Euro snow

Canadian liquid

Canadian snow

German liquid

GFS liquid

GFS snow

My next update will be Saturday, thanks for following and supporting the site!
