Here is the latest info from CDOT for Thursday. Today they finished their mitigation by 8:30 am. It is difficult to predict how long things will take, but they are trying to accommodate my window from 10 am to 1 pm. Wolf Creek has had 48 inches of snow since Monday exceeding my forecast.
“US 160 Wolf Creek Pass: CDOT crews will perform avalanche mitigation on U.S. 160 Wolf Creek Pass tomorrow morning, Thursday, Dec 30. Beginning at 6 a.m. westbound traffic will be stopped just west of the ski area near the pass summit (MP 168) and eastbound traffic will be stopped near Treasure Falls (MP 158). The duration of this closure is expected to be at least two hours long. However, please be aware this closure may be extended should unusual circumstances arise.”
My next update will be Thursday before 9 am. Thanks for following and supporting the site!
