My confidence continues to grow as all of the operational models are in agreement that we will see a couple of storm systems move through the area accompanied by a direct discharge of arctic air next week. In some of the higher locations, it may seem like one long storm as there may not be a lull between the two systems.
These storms are going to affect travel at all elevations from late Monday through Thursday, possibly until Friday morning. If you are planning to travel into or out of SW Colorado next week, it is time to start paying attention to the weather and possibly adjust your plans.
For simplicity purposes, I am going to refer to the storms as one storm because if there is a lull between the two systems it will be very short. The Euro really got enthusiastic about the storm after my post yesterday, the Canadian model last night went all in as well. Here are the last two runs from the Euro and GFS operational models, and the most current run of the Canadian operational model.

During our storm week in December, the Canadian was the most accurate model for Wolf Creek. This particular run of the Canadian is showing over 4 feet of snow for Wolf Creek.
My next update will be on Saturday. Thanks for following and supporting the site!
Assuming that the maps show inches of water….since you say that Wolf Creek should get four feet.
Of course it is going to snow. The La Plata County Humane Society has had roofing materials on order for months. They are finally here and work was supposed to start on the new roof on Monday.
Yes always liquid this far out. It is too early to determine snow ratios.
