Snow Forecast Through Friday

3/9/22 Wednesday 4:30 pm

This was a complicated forecast. I combined the last couple of runs from each model I used to determine an average. For the low and mid-elevations, I double-weighted the Euro and only used the other models once to come up with an average. For the higher elevations, I threw out the Euro and blended the totals from the other models to come up with an average.

There are still a lot of things that can go very right or very wrong for this storm. We have had a number of misses and nice surprises lately. Let’s hope for another upside surprise.

Wolf Creek 14 to 18 inches

Purgatory, Mayday, and Rico 9 to 13 inches

Telluride 8 to 12 inches

Higher mid-elevations Vallecito and Lemon, Glacier Club, Pagosa.  5 to 9 inches

Mid-elevations 3 to 5 inches.

Cortez, Durango, Bayfield, 2 to 4 inches

Bondad to Farmington, there are many models saying this will be your biggest storm of the year. I am not sure if I buy into it. So I am saying 1 to 3.

I wrote this top portion earlier today. I wanted to see the latest model runs and guidance from the NWS.

So here is the deal, the models are suggesting a great Colorado border to Farmington event. Not sure.
