4/3/22 Sunday 8 am
When I first typed the title above I inadvertently typed “Snowers” instead of Snow Showers. I think I like that better. I am going to use snowers going forward.
A fairly weak system will move through the forecast area later today. The northern portion of the forecast area will see snowers breaking out first.
Snow levels will be pretty high with this system. They may climb above 10,000 feet before lowering overnight to around 9,000 feet. By tomorrow morning the snow accumulation level will be between 9,000 and 8,000 feet.
Here are the latest precipitation forecasts.
Because the local resorts are closing my mountain snow forecasts are going to be more general in nature. The exception would be if we get a system or two through the area that affects Purgatory over the next two weekends.
For the mountains above 9,500 feet, 550 passes, and Wolf Creek Pass, I expect 2 to 4 inches of snow through tomorrow. Slightly higher amounts may fall near Red Mountain Pass. Tomorrow I will look ahead at the rest of the month and see what may be in our future.
My next update will be on Monday. Thanks for following and supporting the site!
