Local Update
Today will be the warmest day until the middle of next week. Temperatures will be slightly cooler on Friday in advance of an approaching front. Temperatures will be considerably cooler on Saturday afternoon.
In the lower elevations, conditions will turn blustery late on Friday into Saturday. Winds in advance of and behind the front will be the biggest factors.
In the higher elevations, snow will fall and a few inches (maybe more) will be possible above 9,000 feet. There is still disagreement among the models regarding how much precipitation will fall across the forecast area. The northern portions of the forecast area will be favored for the highest totals.
Here are the maps put into motion beginning Friday at noon and ending Monday at 9 am. The biggest difference is the GFS drops an additional wave on Sunday further south into our forecast area. Because of this, the GFS is expecting higher totals.
