Fire Update
Here is the latest information I have as of 4 pm of the #PerinsPeakFire.
This concludes the fire update…
Sorry, no new info. Here is what I can tell you. The winds were in our favor today. The anticipated smoke never developed. Excellent air quality all day. Little to no smoke is visible from the site. There is a press conference later today. Inciweb had a zoom link. The time of the press conference was not disclosed. I can tell you that there is a fed flyover for Plumtaw, but I have not seen one for Perins. This tells me everything is under control.
Weekend Update
Beginning tomorrow, temperatures will warm up as winds transition to the southwest. The winds will be seasonable under a ridge of high pressure. At the moment, the weekend looks dry (duh). The ridge will move east of the area on Sunday. There is a storm system coming into the PAC NW, it will compress the pressure gradient and enhance wind speeds and gusts from Sunday afternoon, through at least Tuesday. This will increase fire danger throughout Southwest Colorado. There will be a chance of snow above 10,000 feet in the northern portions of the forecast area from late Sunday through Tuesday. Winds should be out of the SW for IHBC on Saturday.
