2/26/23 Saturday 7:15 am
Saturdays are typically my least visited days on the site. Besides, this will be the nicest, warmest day that we have had in a while and the only one in the foreseeable future. So I would expect people to get out and enjoy it and maybe, find some new places to put the snow.
A quick-moving storm will move in Sunday morning, it will be more of a nuisance storm than anything, and it should be done before Monday morning. I expect an inch or so (if that) in the lower elevations. 1-3 inches in the mid-elevations. Telluride and Ouray will also be in the 1-3 inch range (the flow will not be favorable for this storm once again). For Purgatory and Wolf Creek, as well as, North Vallecito, North Lemon, and Mayday 3-6 inches will be possible.
Monday should be a cool but calm day. By Monday light snow could develop over the higher terrain and spread throughout the forecast area on Tuesday. Light snow may linger on and off Tuesday until a more powerful storm arrives Wednesday. Unsettled weather is likely to continue Tuesday through the weekend but the details are a little unclear at the moment. When I look out over the next 10-day period, it looks like we will once again be measuring the high elevation snow in feet.
I will do a more detailed update Sunday morning.
