My biggest question is whether all of the models are completely wrong about snow levels, or is the warm air in the upper levels not here yet? Or both? If you are wondering what I am talking about you are probably in the lower elevations. If you are in the mid-elevations, you know it has been snowing for the last few hours.
I am at 7,450 and it is starting to stick to the grass. The temperature has dropped 6 degrees since the snow started, and it is currently 34 degrees. There is not a big difference in temperatures higher up, it is around 31 degrees at 9,000 feet.
I don’t have an answer to my question, it will be interesting to see how this pans out. If I see something enlightening out of the NWS afternoon discussion I may post again later.
