Surface map
The best chance of showers developing will occur after noon today. This initial surge will be weak. Precipitation may not make it to the ground in all areas during the day. The main system is in the process of pushing onshore in Central California. That will bring better chances of rain and snow to most areas on Sunday, Sunday night, and early Monday.
Depending on the trajectory and path of the system, we may see some low-end Winter Weather Advisories issued for Sunday. The chances are increasing that many areas above 6,500 feet may get a light covering of snow on the ground by Monday morning!
I will post again later today.
