It Just Won’t Stop

First of all a million thanks to Judson Crossland who plowed me and several other neighbors out today!

Between 6:45am and 11 am we have had an additional six inches of snow and it is still coming down, though much lighter at the moment. Current storm total up here is 40 inches (11:30 am). Hey Durango Herald, if you want to get some decent snow pictures of the 80 inches we have gotten up here since Valentine’s day, come on up were only 8 1/2 miles away!

As you can see the deeper moisture (in dark green) appears to be slowly spreading east.

This is generally a poor way to forecast but it seems to give us the best insight (until we get radar) the models the last 24 hours have under forecasted the storm in the areas that have been hit the worst (best?).  Using the CWV  (above satellite image) is tricky because that moisture to the west has a way moving southwest to northeast and can leave big holes of little snow (ask Bayfield). There is no way to tell how this will play out, as I said this morning there were about a dozen scenarios for how this thing could end. I do expect most of the action to conclude from west to east between late this afternoon and tomorrow morning. All of the 160 west webcams are currently down, so followers from Mancos to the border please keep me updated.
