Sunday Update: Waiting For Nothing

1/19/25 Sunday 5 am

This ridge from hell is due to La Nina. It is locked in with NO sign of breaking down in the forecastable future. If it is going to be this dry, then at least it could be a little warmer…

You know it is bad when New Orleans and Northwest Houston suburbs may get more snow than us in the short term. Houston could have a record winter for snowfall; the record is 4.4 inches.

On the bright side, when this pattern flips, and it will, even if it is too late for winter, we could have a wet spring. Transitioning from La Nina into ENSO neutral conditions (historically) always results in a substantial increase in precipitation.

In the meantime, I will be looking for any promising signs ahead. Until then, no news, is no news.
