2/13/25 Thursday 2 pm
There’s not a lot new from the models. I still think there is a chance that snow could turn to a mix at or below 6,600 feet by late Friday morning. The morning commute will be a huge mess. Slow down on 160, heading into Durango from the west. Those attempting to drive from Durango over Hesperus Hill prepare for a big mess from DW2 up to Hesperus. Same with 240, 501, you know what to do… No snow reports until I give the all-clear. I will ask for them based on elevations. I would not be surprised to see a lull late Friday followed by some leftovers. In the higher elevations, snow should continue into Saturday night.
Wolf Creek Pass: 32 to 40 inches
Lizard Head, Coal Bank: 28 to 36 inches
Mayday, Silver Creek Ranch: 20 to 26 inches
Red Mountain Pass, Hermosa Cliffs area, Purgatory: 18 to 24 inches
Rico, Dunton: 14 to 20 inches
Silverton, Telluride: 10 to 16 inches
Ouray: 8 to 12 inches
Ridgway: 4 to 9 inches
La Sal Mountains, Vallecito, Lemon area, Enchanted Forest, Tween, Upper Forest Lakes, Texas Creek Aspen Trails, Durango Ridge Ranch, Hesperus Hill area, Upper Durango Hills: 18 to 24 inches
Upper Falls Creek, Dwest 1&2, Glacier, Edgemont Highlands, Lower Forest Lakes: 14 to 20 inches
Timberdale area, Rockwood, Bakers Bridge, Pagosa Springs, Aspen, Edgemont Ranch and Meadows, Shenandoah Highlands: 12 to 16 inches
Chromo, Deer Valley Estates, Shenandoah Estates, Trappers Crossing, N Dolores: 10 to 14 inches
Mancos, S Dolores: 6 to 9 inches before melting
Durango Bayfield, Hermosa, Dalton, Gem Village: 8 to 12 inches before melting
Timberline, Skyridge, Chromo: 9 to 14 inches
Farmington, Aztec Bloomfield, Cedar Hill, Bondad, Cortez, Red Mesa, Marvel, Ignacio, Blanding 1 to 3 inches before melting- mostly rain-snow mix.
Enjoy, have fun, be careful, and slow down. There are many new, inexperienced mountain snow drivers in the area.
