Tuesday Morning Update

10/24/23 Tuesday 8 am

Light showers have developed in the western portions of the forecast area. It is uncertain how far east the showers will track. Models show showers drifting across Montezuma County, just touching the La Platas. Further north they show better coverage from Rico to Coal Bank and Telluride to Red Mountain. A few flurries could mix in at around 10,000 feet.

Any activity should wrap up by this afternoon. Aside from slightly cooler temperatures, there will be little to talk about over the next couple of days as the models try to figure out the next series of storms. I have low confidence in any storm having a major impact across our forecast area. These first few fall storms generally stay to the north or drop down the Front Range.

Anyone who has major travel plans later this week and weekend into Wyoming/Montana/ North Dakota/South Dakota should probably start keeping an eye on the weather.

Our time will come. I am even more confident about our upcoming winter than I was a month ago. Lots of snow and very cold…
