Friday Update: Nothing To See Here

7/5/24 Friday 6 am

Waking to a beautiful 43 degrees this morning is a perfect start to any July day in my book!

More warm and dry weather is expected through the weekend. Models are mixed on the potential for pop-up showers during the afternoons this coming week. Regardless, showers are more focused over the northern two-thirds of the forecast area.

These are very difficult to predict. With the dry antecedent conditions, it will be challenging to produce any meaningful rainfall. For any substantial rainfall, we will have to return to a monsoonal flow for abundant precipitation to occur. This is beginning to look like it may happen in the last ten days of the month.

The remnants from Hurricane Beryl are not going to happen for us. All of it will take a hard swing right into the South Central US. Mississippi, Tennessee, it is going to get worse, if that is possible. I got a text from a buddy who lives in Memphis last night. It was 9 p.m. his time, and the heat index was still 111 degrees. YUCK!

My next post will be on Sunday.
