If you were in the path of “The” storm yesterday afternoon, you knew it. Heavy 1/2 inch diameter hail. Wind gusts of 60+ mph and extremely heavy rain in a very short time.
It went over my neighborhood; I would put it in my top five of summer storms since I moved here 16 years ago!
The models will do a poor job today transitioning to the drier pattern. I would not be surprised to see a few pop-up storms this afternoon with the residual moisture and, in some cases, saturated soils from yesterday’s storms.
Looking into the future, the models immediately conflict regarding when showers will return. I will be tracking it.
