In October, there were two recent snowstorms in the mountains and two significant rain events in the lower elevation areas—zero complaints. Bring on November!
It was nice to see the first snow falling in the mid-elevations yesterday afternoon. A couple of inches accumulated above 7,600 feet!
We will have a couple of days of downtime until more unsettled weather enters the area by Sunday morning, then perhaps another late-week storm.
Details are still uncertain. Models show a couple to a few inches of snow for the ski areas and lower snow levels across the forecast area. The most optimistic model overnight was the GFS, which showed a couple of inches of snow accumulating down to 6,500 feet. It’s too early to gas up the snowthrowers, but it’s very encouraging!

Jeff—I always appreciate your detailed weather reports—we just don’t get that from anyone but you! Thank you!
