Monday Update

12/30/24 Monday 3:00 am

Another storm far to the north will pass and result in a couple of inches of snow falling today, mainly north of Purgatory, with Telluride and the 550 corridor through San Juan and Ouray Counties being favored.

These storms have all been Pacific NW leftovers and we continue to be out of the main storm path.

Despite this, three-day totals along the 550 corridor exceeded expectations. Coal Bank picked up 16.5 inches, Molas was close with 16 inches. Red Mountain picked up 22 inches.

So, it’s likely a couple of more inches in those locations today. After that, another quiet, dry week. Another system is likely to slam into the PACNW going into the weekend. Models do not agree on how to handle this system by the time it approaches our region.
