3/31/25 Monday 2 pm
The first storm is headed this way and will affect mostly mountain locations after midnight; Sneaky snow could possibly affect morning commutes, especially on the higher locations of Highway 160 and County Road 240 from mid-elevation areas into Durango tomorrow morning. Look outside and, if necessary, give yourself some extra time.
Between 6,500 and 7000 feet, zero to three inches of snow is possible. From 7.400 feet to 8,000 feet, two to five inches could be seen. Three to five inches is possible for Purgatory and, more than likely, Wolf Creek. However, the model spread for Wolf Creek is currently three to fifteen inches, so the forecast there is very uncertain.
North of Purgatory, higher totals are possible—generally, four to eight inches for Molas, Coal Bank, and Silverton. From Telluride to Red Mountain, five to nine inches are possible.
The end of the week and weekend still look promising for heavy mountain snow!
