Friday- Weekend Outlook

9/4/26 Friday 4:30 am

I have been warning you about the period of boring weather coming up; nothing has really changed in the last 24 hours. For today through Sunday afternoon. It still looks uneventful, with just the ever-present slight chance of isolated showers, especially in the higher elevations.

Boring? Yes, but I gotta tell you, I had to step outside yesterday afternoon; it was beautiful, cool (low to mid 70s), and low humidity — it felt very nice in the shade!

In the short term, here are the discrepancies. They don’t start until late Sunday afternoon and into Sunday evening/night.

The European is on the left; the GFS is on the right. These model runs are stopped at the same time on Sunday night. You can see the GFS is trying to bring some type of disturbance through the area.

Because of this, I don’t yet have guidance on what type of weather to expect on Monday. What you see above in the side-by-side is a perfect 50/50. I don’t look at weather apps (except for radar), but chances are, if your favorite app shows a 50% chance of rain Sunday night and Monday, that’s why.

My plan is still to do a deep dive on longer-term modeling this weekend; I will have that out on Sunday. Tomorrow morning I will take another look at Monday and see if we get consensus data.

Enjoy the (boring) weekend!
