Thanks for the snow reports. Remember even powder snow compacts so if you want to be accurate when measuring try to clear often, I usually don’t let more than 4 inches pile up when possible, which up here has been about every 2 1/2 -3 hours. The exception, of course, is when I sleep and yes I do occasionally sleep, I am just not very good at it.
So far the southeastern portion of La Plata County seems to be missing out on some of the “fun”. The highest amounts are being reported around Hesperus at or above 7,800 feet as well as upper Durango Hills, Aspen Trails/Trew Creek, and Lemon over to just south of Vallecito, I have had several reports at or above 20 inches.
Many areas are going to exceed the upper reaches of my initial forecasts, I mentioned that I thought I might be too low.
In fact, I think many areas will have nearly double what they have now, in the case of areas to the east and north that I mentioned earlier they may have more than that.
Here is what the Euro has from 11 am today until Saturday when this stops. I’d use 15 to 1 at 7,000 feet and below and 16 to 1 everywhere else.
Here at the house, we have now had 16 3/4 inches (11:45 am) and it is snowing at 1 3/4 inches per hour.
Time to move snow again, my driveway is becoming a tunnel with mini avalanches. I will update again between 1-2 pm

You asked for some snow totals. Do you look at cocorahs.org ? Several show up there. In fact, are you a participant?
Cocorahs is voluntary and some of the participants are inconsistent, t times they miss entire storms. So I don’t use them.
Perhaps, and the locations are a little sparse, but it is still informative to see the data plotted on county maps for our 4 local counties.
FYI I enjoy looking at your precip. models. I hadn’t seen those before.
BTW already this morning this has been the snowiest February in town in the last 40 years. I don’t have snow data before that.
Come on, Jeff, keep it coming. If we don’t hit 3ft in DW2 I’m going to be disappointed!

Just measured and shoveled 4.5” at DRR. Total since 6pm yesterday is 19.5”.
