Snowpack Update

Light snow will continue to fall on and off throughout the day, in the areas that are currently seeing snow. Generally, 2-4 inches will be possible at the highest elevations.

The next storm should move in by tomorrow morning, more on that later today.

Here are some new snowpack numbers for you. Vallecito is up to 117% percent of peak and 138% of seasonal average, the average date of peak is April 7th. Cascade is 144% of peak and 149% of season to date, the average peak is March 13th (maybe not this year?). Columbus Basin is 122% of peak and 152% of the season to date with an average peak of date of April 19th. Very encouraging.

Finally, a couple of pictures from above were shared with me that tells you everything you need to know.

These photos were taken by Ryan Williams one a few days ago and another about a year ago. In roughly the same location about halfway between Creede and Silverton facing northwest.

Here was the approximate location.
