I Am Back

3/31/22 Thursday 8:45 am

Sorry for the silence the last couple of days. I had some major computer issues and had to replace some hardware.

The first system has exited the area and was mainly as expected. 0.30″ to 0.75″ of precipitation (rain and SWE) fell across the lower and mid-elevations. Telluride and Red Mountain were far short of model expectations.  Purgatory and Wolf Creek were within the model ranges. Purgatory ended up with 12 inches. Coal Bank picked up 13 inches and Red Mountain had 9 inches. Telluride reported 8 inches.

Today, the next system is moving through Utah bringing rain and snow on its way to Colorado. This system is expected to move through the forecast area quickly bringing light rain and snow showers to the forecast area later today/tonight through Friday morning.

The models were in poor agreement overnight regarding precipitation amounts. I will post again around 1 pm after all of the new data is available.
