Monday Update:Tracking The Post Thanksgiving Storm

11/20/23 Monday 9:30 am

As I said yesterday, I have no complaints overall. Everyone got some moisture, several mid-elevation areas got 2-4 inches of snow. It has cooled off nicely. Snow continues to fall from Red Mountain to Ouray and over to Telluride. 6 to 12 inches of snow have fallen in the higher northern forecast area. The snow should wrap up a little later today.

If you enjoyed yesterday, you will really like Friday. The storm is not a lock yet but it looks pretty good on the European model and the German model. I would be surprised if the GFS and Canadian don’t jump on board in the next couple of days.

Here is the latest run of the European model in motion, beginning Thursday night at 11 pm, and ending Saturday night at 11 pm. The blue is snow, notice how widespread it is. The darker the blue the heavier the snow. Each frame is a 6-hour period.

How much?

Don’t get too attached to this model forecast, it will fluctuate between now and then. After all, that is the fun of tracking it right?

My next update will be out on Tuesday.
