The system (or what is left of it) is approaching the forecast area. For the lower and mid-elevation areas, it looks like this could be a “was that it?” storm. Those are the type that blow through with a lot of fanfare. Gusty winds and at times snow squalls, they stick around just long enough for you to think things have changed and make you think it is going to be a good storm. Then, they end just as quickly as they start.

The storm is weakening and now has a positive forward tilt characteristic of a rapid frontal passage and slight drop in temperatures.
We may get a few more flurries Thursday evening, which could lead to a quick inch or two of snow at the resorts by Friday morning.
The next update is Thursday afternoon.

Merry Christmas, DWG! Thank you from Silverton for the Christmas magic this morning! We don’t know how you do it, but it was like you pushed a button and instantly, fat, fluffy flakes began to fall just as we opened our Christmas stockings, at about 8 am.
