5 am
NWS service issued Winter Weather Advisories for this tricky short southern favoring storm. I will have to double check the morning high-resolution model runs, but if you read my update yesterday, you may have gotten the impression that I am not tremendously impressed with this one. That being said, the unplanned, not forecasted events that follow, the surprises/bonuses have been responsible for a lot of our total snowfall this season.
There are a number of other scenarios that could bring more or less snow. At the moment (5 am) it appears we will see the first band of snow lift across the border, followed by a little lull and then a heavier band of snow should come in mid-morning (right about exactly the time I have to drive somewhere). There will be a point where every area is getting some moderate snow but it dies off fairly quickly.
I am going to update this at about 7:30 am so definitely check back I may have something to add.
