The pre-frontal precipitation has started. All of the resorts are currently getting snow. Across the rest of the forecast area, everything from rain, to rain-snow mix, to light snow is falling.
The main trough came onshore and is headed into the Great Basin (Nevada) from Central California. My snow forecast will be out between 4 and 5 pm. It is still tricky, but I think most people will be happy with it.
Here are the most recent runs from the Euro and Canadian showing the forecast for liquid-equivalent precipitation.

Be careful on the passes today. Here is a current shot of Wolf Creek Pass. 23 degrees, snow, and fog. It is going to get much worse later today.
My next update will be out after the NWS forecast discussion. That should be before 5 pm. Thanks for following and supporting the site!
